Stop the Bleeding Event - Almost 100 people showed up at the Stop the Bleeding Event on June 9th. Thank you to everyone who came out in the rain and wore their RED at the Legislative Building!
State Representatives Jennifer Wiess and Ty Harrel spoke to a group of us yesterday at the Stop the Bleeding Event. Ty Harrel urged everyone to email, email, email the legislators about the budget. Emailing does make a difference! The State Budget situation is very dire. Public Education is at stake here...our jobs, benefits, salaries, class size, quality of education...
You need to contact the Legislators this week. They are working on the budget right now and making changes that will affect your job and your life. You need to have a voice in this. If you don't...No one else will...
Tell them your story...how budget cuts will affect you...professionally and personally.
Tell them to: 1) Restore 12,000 educator jobs, 2) Modernize the Tax Structure,
3) Invest in Education.
Tell Senate Democratic Leadership - email addresses below - to Keep Promises to PreK-12 Education. Let them know that teachers & teacher assistants are losing their jobs. Tell them about the bus drivers, custodians & others who are now on unemployment. Let them know that we are counting on them to protect public education.
